Blessed to be a blessing...
Blessed to be a blessing was the theme of a recent sermon series at church. Matt and I are so blessed, with each other, wonderful families and friends, a loving church, and amazing opportunity ahead of us. We want to use this time that is such a blessing to us, to bless others. If you are so inclined, please visit our charity registry and learn how you can give to us AND support Habitat for Humanity International.

YAY!! We had fun!
Well, my pimples were sufficiently covered and we had so much fun shooting our engagement pictures. I will definitely post a few when they are ready. Working with Melody was a BLAST!! The weather was surprisingly mild, especially for the middle of June in the South. Last week was miserable and I was really dreading the shoot if it was going to be that humid.
My favorite part was when Melody nearly wrecked the car after seeing a school bus parked at the Yellow Deli on McCallie. She said, "We have to come back to the school bus. Yes, love the school bus." So we did. We took pictures by their school bus and in a patch of wildflowers near their patio area. The workers were in and out while we were shooting. They would giggle and wave, basically because we were making out at the Christian restaurant. As we were leaving, one of the older guys chased us down and offered us a sandwich "on the house" for shooting our pictures there. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of the session so we couldn't stop. Matt and I went back and had a fabulous dinner after we were done. We couldn't find the guy who offered us free food, but happily paid for our good meal anyway!!
After a quick wardrobe change, we headed to a spot Melody had never shot before. Matt and I have a thing for bamboo. Stay tuned, the pictures will be awesome!! We made our way over to Renaissance Park and Walnut Street Bridge. I'm really excited about the variety of our pictures, and I can't wait to share them with you!!
Next thing on the agenda is scheduling a tasting with the caterer after we learn Mom's off days for July. Mom is working diligently on the dress; bridal portraits are at the end of July, yay!! Things are really coming together well. Let's see if I stay this calm for the next 94 days. Hehe.

Oh well...
I should have never mentioned being "pimple-free" in my blog on postponing our engagement pictures. They are tomorrow and I have a breakout on my jawline!! NICE! Thank GOD for photoshop! Sigh...
I'm still looking forward to working with Melody.

Prayers
I have a lot of friends who need prayers right now. I can't really discuss any of their situations in this public forum (or in private), but I figured I would ask. Even anonymous prayers help. God knows what His children need.

Waiting game
Well, boo hoo. We have to wait to shoot our engagement session. The weather forecast is showing pop-up thunder storms all afternoon and evening, so we made the call last night to wait. The BIG bummer is how long we have to wait, 2 WEEKS! Stupid Riverbend starts on Friday night and screws up every view of downtown and interferes with just about every place we had planned to shoot.
I'm a planner, and I had planned so perfectly. Matt got a haircut to time the growth perfectly for this week. I've been working out to get in shape in general for all of the events. I had timed my tanning sessions to be the perfect shade of sunkissed, without looking fake or bloated (if you tan too close to pictures you look bloated b/c tanning brings water to the surface). I've been taking care of my skin and I'm currently pimple-free and freshly groomed (Matt is also freshly groomed). Well FART. Now I have to try and maintain my perfectly sunkissed shade without overdoing it OR running out of pre-paid visits (because I'm BROKE and can't afford another set of 10 right now) for the next 2 WEEKS!! Grrr, Riverbend and weather.
I swear, if today turns out to be beautiful I'm gonna be pissed! I'm sure this is the first of many kinks in this whole wedding situation. I need to just learn to deal with it. Oh well, we will have pictures made and they will be fabulous. If you don't believe me, just check out Melody's blog and look for yourself.
